A new operator has been unveiled for Middlesbrough’s popular Municipal Golf Centre.

Link Golf UK will enhance and develop the facility as a hub for golfers of all ages and abilities.

Under the exciting new partnership, the company has outlined a range of planned improvements including the introduction of TrackMan Range technology to the driving range.

The cutting-edge system will offer players a modern and interactive way to practise, bringing the latest technology to the local golfing community.

Link Golf takes over from Everyone Golf who currently run Middlesbrough’s leisure centres as Everyone Active.

In addition to its challenging 6,324yd 18-hole course, the 160-acre Ladgate Lane site features a floodlit driving range and junior golf sessions to introduce the next generation to the sport.

Andrew Terry, Director and Founder of Link Golf UK said the company’s focus was on community engagement, investment in technology and ensuring the facility becomes a vibrant, welcoming venue for all.

He said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be appointed as the new operator of Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre.

“The golf course and its facilities are already fantastic, and we look forward to building on this strong foundation.

“Our vision is to deliver affordable, accessible golf to the people of Middlesbrough while enhancing the facilities to create a first-class golfing destination for the local community.”

Link Golf UK Operations Manager Kelvin Wilson added: “We’re excited to work alongside the incredible team at Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre.

“Their passion and dedication to the facility and its community are clear, and we’re looking forward to supporting them as we work together to encourage even more people to take up the game.

“Whether you’re a regular player or picking up a club for the first time, we want to ensure everyone feels welcome at Middlesbrough Municipal.”

Welcoming the announcement, Middlesbrough Mayor Chris Cooke said: “We’re proud to have some of the best sports and leisure facilities in the North East in Middlesbrough and the Municipal Golf Centre is one of a number of jewels in the town’s crown.

“It’s been drawing golfers to its fairways and greens for many years, from beginners to seasoned players and we’re determined to maintain that appeal for future generations, and make golf ever more accessible and inclusive.

“This important appointment marks the start of an exciting new chapter for such a popular community golf facility, with much-needed investment that will stand it in good stead for many years to come.”
