Rylan Clark has shared insights into his close friendship with TV favorite Rob Rinder, describing their relationship as akin to an “old married couple.” The duo, known for their on-screen adventures in Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, have captivated audiences with their chemistry as they tackle challenges ranging from embracing drag in Venice to conducting orchestras.
Speaking at the BBC Radio 2 In The Park festival, Rylan expressed his admiration for Rob, revealing a deep bond beyond the cameras. “Me and Rob are like an old married couple, but we don’t have sex. We are a typical married couple! I love Rob,” he told the Express. “If you could marry your friends, I’d marry Rob because he is just the most wonderful man.” However, with his signature humor, he added: “If I ended up in a relationship with him, I’d probably kill him in two days… not a good look, but I do love him.”
Rylan dismissed the term “bromance,” preferring to call their connection a “full-on romance”—albeit without a romantic element. “I love that man with all my heart,” he said.
During an appearance on This Morning to promote their show, Rylan shared a candid moment from filming in Italy. Recalling their accommodations, he said: “In Venice, we stayed in separate accommodation. Then in Florence, it was the same accommodation but separate rooms. By Rome, I’m waking up with him on top of me like, ‘Get off me, barrister!’ We started this process as mates and finished it as actual genuine friends, and that’s probably one of the best things to come out of it.”
Rob responded to Rylan’s sweet remarks with equal affection, saying, “You make me proud every single day.” Their mutual respect and playful banter sparked a flurry of online reactions, with fans commenting on their chemistry. Despite the speculation surrounding their relationship, Rylan recently addressed the rumors, denying any romance and expressing concern for his mother, Linda. Responding to a journalist who approached her at home, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “To the journalist that just doorstepped my mum at her house, as polite as you were, please don’t. She said you were a lovely man, but she’s 71 years old, and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. The answer is no. I’m not dating Rob Rinder; he’s one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks.”
