A nine-year-old boy who captured hearts online for his incredible fundraising efforts has concluded his charitable journey in style—organizing a charity football match against Newcastle United YouTubers.

Wilf, who has raised over £20,000 for causes such as the West End Foodbank, The Alan Shearer Foundation, and Dementia Matters over the past two years, decided to end his campaign with the organization that started it all: the NUFC Fans Foodbank.

A Memorable Farewell

The six-a-side match took place at the Newcastle United Foundation on Saturday, November 16, and featured popular YouTubers, including Adam Pearson, “Geordie Josh,” and “Charlie Talks Football.” Livestreamed online, the event aimed to raise funds for the NUFC Fans Foodbank, continuing Wilf’s commitment to fighting hunger.

Reflecting on his achievements, Wilf said:
“I feel very happy, excited, and proud of myself because it’s a massive achievement reaching twenty thousand pounds.”

A Proud Dad

Alan Hodgson, Wilf’s father, expressed his admiration for his son’s efforts:
“I think I’d have you here all day to say all the words that’s necessary. I’m just a proud dad.

“It started a couple of years ago when he just wanted to help with a food bank, and it’s grown so big. Twenty thousand pounds is an incredible achievement for somebody so young.”

Meeting Heroes and Creating Magic

Wilf first gained widespread attention after meeting his idol, Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimarães, during his charity work. In February last year, Guimarães was photographed wearing a “Bruno’s Magic Hat,” a creation by Wilf inspired by a popular St. James’ Park chant.

Speaking about the moment, Wilf recalled:
“He [Guimarães] said, ‘I love the hat.’ He hugged me, kissed the hat, and signed a few things for me.”

Wilf’s charity efforts have also included 24-hour walks with his dad and donating his pocket money for every photo he took with a celebrity. Over time, Wilf has been spotted wearing his “Magic Hat” alongside football icons such as Kevin Keegan, Dan Burn, and Gareth Southgate.

A Legacy of Kindness

Wilf’s remarkable journey showcases the power of community and generosity. As he hangs up his fundraising boots, his achievements stand as a testament to the difference one young boy can make.
