Armed police were deployed to Acklam Road shortly before 5 PM today, prompting a significant response near the Acklam Car Garage and Esso petrol station.
Despite the heavy police presence, the incident is not believed to be connected to the garage.
As of 5:30 PM, the road has reportedly been reopened to traffic. However, the reason for the armed response remains unclear.
