Officers have released images of a man they would like to identify after they received a report that counterfeit bank notes were used at a shop in Newcastle city centre.

Police received a report that just after 2.30pm on Friday, November 22, a man entered CEX Entertainment on Northumberland Street.

The man has then bought a video game using three counterfeit bank notes before leaving the shop.

Officers investigating the report have today (Friday) issued images of a man they would like to identify.

He was in the area at the time and police believe he may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to send Northumbria Police a direct message on social media, use the live chat function on the Force website or go to https://www.northumbria.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
